I Want the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield You Sell: The 2026 Review, Facts, & Not Just Talk

Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro

This will be the last streaming device you can control and sideload APK’s (apps) onto. So why are YouTubers, Bloggers, and Reddit forums lying to you about the Nvidia Shield Pro?

Because they clearly don't know. See the difference between all of them is, they all have real day jobs. This is just a hobby for them. So, they are not thinking long term streaming device. They are thinking short term and what they see now in front of their face.

For us, here at D3vicx (devices), this is the day job, the business we do. We have been doing this day in and day out for the last 15 years. Loading streaming devices, iPads, iPhones, Android phones, and tablets. Hell, we are the only ones in this modern era that know how to jailbreak an Apple TV 4K and load it up with four Kodi apps.

Our saying has been very clear from the start. "Stop buying cheap. When you buy cheap, you buy twice." So stop buying cheap streaming devices and looking for a different outcome. It’s like trying to drive your car but you still haven’t put gas in the tank.

With the $200 you have put into the cheap devices, you could have invested in a more premium streaming device by now. The one that will last you for years, not just for a few months. But in doing so, you will have to pay a premium price. Because you have already paid the price of your TIME, trying to fix the cheap ones.

In this blog, I Want the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield You Sell: The 2026 Review, Facts, & Not Just Talk, we are going to tell you about it all. The good: the best streaming device you've been missing out on, a Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro. The bad: most streaming devices have the same problem, buffering and freezing. And the ugly: the Google ban on sideloaded APK's coming soon.

So, how can we help you solve this problem in 2026?

It’s time for you to let us do all the work and you just sit back and enjoy with our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro. It’s been time for you to have a different experience when it comes to streaming.

Let us walk you through the three top problems, how we solved them, and making our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro future-proof for you.

Will This Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro Survive the Google Sideloading Ban in 2026?

I wanted to start with the elephant in the room. What is going to happen when Google roll out the ban to sideloading like Amazon did to their Fire devices?

Well, right now the only Android TV boxes that have to worry about this are the cheap (budget-friendly) devices. The reason is because they can’t turn off Google Services. See, Google Services is the problem here, its Google’s version of Android, not Android open-source project (AOSP).

When we tried to turn off Google Services on a cheaper device like the TiVo Stream 4K, we learned the hard way, Android open-source is not running in the background of the device. We also learned and saw, the device just updated the Android software from Android 10 to Android 12 and we couldn’t stop it.

"Imagine waking up tomorrow. You grab the remote. You turn on your device and your favorite app is gone. Not frozen. Not slow. Just... gone. The cheap box you trusted? It updated itself overnight and wiped everything you sideloaded. That's what happened to our TiVo. That's what's coming for every cheap streaming device in 2026."

We tried using the Remote APK on the device to run ADB debugging but that didn’t work. The best we could do was, turn off Google Play Protection. Lucky, all we had where a couple of movie and TV series APK’s on that device. But imagine having Sports and Live TV APKs, all gone. Disabled without your permission and no, trying to re-sideload them back on doesn’t work.

We were shocked, we couldn’t control the TiVo Stream 4K device using ADB debugging at all. With other cheaper devices like Onn Boxes, Chrome cast, Google TV Stream, and the others, you will lose the ability to control what you sideload onto them just like the Firesticks.

But we know the Nvidia Shield TV Pros will be the only streaming devices that will not have these problems. How? Let’s talk about it below.

How The Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro is Future-Proof from Google Sideloading Ban

Remember that software I was telling you about the AOSP? Well, NVIDIA had common sense to put that onto their devices first before adding on the Google Services. Thank you NVIDIA for using your brain cells when you built this device.

Because of this we are able to turn off Google Services and stop all automatic updates. We are able to stop the sideloading ban coming in 2026. The sideloading ban will never touch your Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro you get from us.

You have full control over the device, NOT Google. No Google Services means no Google ban. It’s that simple.

I could sit here and tell you the full process but no one wants to hear it, so I’ll put that below.

Here I’m going to tell you with our Elite System on a Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro, it solves all your streaming problems. We had to think steps ahead to create this incredible system. On top of completely de-Googling the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019.

This was the only way to gain full control over the device. By doing this, no more APKs disappear without your permission. No more updates are needed for “so-called security”. You are just using the device to stream, nothing more. So your personal information doesn’t need to be on it.

You are not signing into a Netflix account. Remember, the APKs on the streaming device gives you access to Netflix for free by using search engines.

You don’t need the Google Play Store, there are a ton of Android App Stores out there that work way better. Plus, they can help with keeping some of the APKs up to date. It’s so much you can do with this device, its mind blowing.

Our Process of the Nvidia Shield Pro For Those Who Want to Know

See, the Nvidia Shield Pros started as a gaming system, which didn’t sell well so they pivoted to streaming. And we all lucked into the greatest streaming device in the history of streaming because of this. Now, you can still game on the Nvidia Shield Pro but it works incredibly well as a streaming device.

We will say, right out of the box and plugged in, we have no experience with the device running on Android 11.

For us, right out of the box, we always flash the system and downgrade (rollback) the software to Android 9 v8.2.1. From there, we use ADB debugging to take full control of the device by cutting off Google Play Protection, Google Play Store, and Google Services.

This is done to control the device and future-proof it.

It’s a ton of other stuff we do too. But this blog is for people who don’t want to do all this, they just want to buy the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro we offer. Without boring you with the process, we blocked what needs to be blocked and then load our Elite System onto the device giving you access to worldwide FREE TV entertainment for the next 3 to 5 years.

The Nvidia Shield Pro we have in our office is on its 7th year and runs faster than any other streaming device it goes up against.

We truly believe, this will be the last greatest streaming device you will be able to control. So, we highly recommend you picking one up before it’s too late.

It’s up to you if you want one from us or if you want to give it ago yourself. Either way, get a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 in 2026.

Amazon Blockings Sideloading For Good: Why I'm Switching to Nvidia Shield Pro in 2026

You go to open your favorite movie app. It won't open. You try again. Nothing. You Google it. 'This app is blocked for your security.' Your security? No. Amazon just decided what you can and can't watch on that device.

It has been confirmed as of April 16th, 2026. Amazon has blocked all sideloading of APKs (apps) for good on their devices. You may have bought that Firestick, but you clearly don't own the device you paid for.

Wait, what? How can they do this?

When you are going through the setup of a Firestick (and really a lot of the others are like this too), you are agreeing to their Terms of Service. Which means you are licensing their software on that physical device you paid for. So buying is no longer owning in this case.

In all fairness, back in the Summer of 2023, I do remember Amazon warning people about this change coming. They said they were coming out with their own Vega OS to block sideloading of third-party APKs.

Some people took them at their word and started to move away from Firesticks and other Fire devices. Others thought it would be suicidal for Amazon to do this. To stop people from sideloading APKs onto their devices.

You see, the Summer of 2025 was the rollout of the new Vega OS, and that's when the blocks started happening. By then, a ton of you should have jumped ship. But not to another cheap streaming device like the Onn Box Pro, only for this to happen to you all over again come September 2026. You have now wasted more of your hard‑earned cash on streaming devices you will trash yet again.

Think about how much money you have burned through listening to YouTubers, Reddit forums, and random bloggers tell you to buy Firesticks, and now Onn Box Pros. Now ask yourself: Is that YouTuber going to refund you?

No. They already got their ad money.

You need a more premium streaming device that you control. Something you pay for only once and it lasts for the next few years. That leaves the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 that we just talked about in the section above. How many of these people are telling you about this streaming device? Looking out for your best interest when it comes to long‑term solutions versus short‑term and cheap?

The saying goes, "When you buy cheap, you buy twice... you buy more like 5 times the amount". Think about it. Count it up. Write it out so you can see with your own eyes.

Can a Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro Get a Virus?

This is a double answer depending on the information. No, not with the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros we offer. We test every APK with VirusTotal to make sure there are no virus or malware on anything we add to our Elite System before loading it onto a Nvidia Shield Pro.

So you have the fear of getting hacked or infected with a virus? Well, it’s not like a computer virus. It’s more like you have the Google or Alexa in your home. The person on the other end can see or track what you are doing on the device and collect your information if they have malware on that cheap device system, so in this case, Yes.

But your personal information shouldn’t be on a streaming device with sideloaded APKs. Here is why.

I understand logging into your account like Netflix, but you don’t have a Netflix account on this streaming device. You are not looking to stream the so-called over priced “legal way.” To use sideloaded APKs on this kind of streaming device, you shouldn’t be signing into anything unless it’s a Debrid account, which I recommend most with Kodi or Stremio.

Signing into a Debrid account is 100% safe on the right sideloaded streaming device. You should get this jailbroken streaming device from a real seller, where it comes with security already on the device. Like our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros are de-Googled and come with an all-in-one DNS, Adblocker, and VPN APK on the device for you. So, no one is getting into your device or internet network.

You are NOT safe when using the cheap ones from Amazon. The cheap streaming devices you buy off of Amazon, have a little problem so Linus from Linus Tech Tips has covered it in a video. That channel did a study on cheap no name boxes having malware on them. In the video, he explains what the malware is doing. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vpepaQ-VQQ.

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about virus nor malware because you are getting your device from a trusted seller who cares about your privacy.

Loading the device yourself? Test everything with VirusTotal before sideloading it onto your device. VirusTotal scans an APK with over 60 different antivirus engines. And last, make sure you use a VPN for privacy when streaming.

Why Does My Nvidia Shield Pro Keep Buffering?: Should I Fix It or Buy One From D3vicx

My favorite topic and yet the most technical. Yes, we have noticed a huge difference in our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro vs. a Nvidia Shield Pro the average user has, which buffers all the time. This could be for three big reasons.

The first reason that causes your Nvidia Shield Pro to buffer is the OS running on the device.

You are most likely using a version of Android 11, right? Well, from what we do know, Android 11 slows down the Nvidia Shield Pro by 20%. That is a lot of speed being taken away.

Android 11 is NVIDIA's fix to slow down sideloading to please Google. There is something about Android 11 that is just weird. Not only does it kill 20% of your speed, it blocks APKs from going deep into the device's system. Something as simple as a cache cleaner APK – an app that goes deep into the system to clean up unwanted space – can be blocked when trying to load it onto the device. Google is now blocking these.

Then there are the crashes of Kodi and Plex. Kodi crashing I understand, but why Plex?

All these little issues made us unhappy with Android 11, so we downgraded back to Android 9 v8.2.1.

The second reason that causes your Nvidia Shield Pro to buffer is you using WiFi.

You are most likely using WiFi, or if you are using the Ethernet port, your cable might be wrong. You might be running a Cat8, Cat7, or Cat6 cable. We recommend using a Cat5e cable.

See, you are using a device that was released in 2019.

Think of all the technology that was on the market back then. Use that stuff. Stop trying to use 2026 technology on a 2019 device. The double crazy thing about this is, the parts you need are way cheaper today and work better than the stuff that's out now.

When using WiFi 5GHz, remember, it doesn't travel far nor through objects very well. You can use WiFi 2.4GHz, but it's going to be very, very slow.

This is why you want to use the Ethernet port. Plug your router directly into the device for full streaming power. This will give you the most stable connection vs. WiFi, which can be broken up.

The third reason that causes your Nvidia Shield Pro to buffer is the Rented Router.

Do you own it or do you rent from your provider? Own your own modem and router in 2026. When you rent from your provider, the equipment is trash, it tops your Ethernet speeds at 100 Mbps, and you pay an extra monthly fee.

With your own router and depending on your internet speed plan, you can clock up to 1GB/1000Mbps of speed when connected with an Ethernet.

Pro Tip: How to save money on your Internet bill each and ever year. Go to your provider's location and ask for the special. Don't call, physically go to the store and ask for the promotion.

Let them know you own your own router, so return theirs. You should see your bill coming in at $55 for the basic internet promotion. I'm not sure what the 1GB promotion price is, but find out before you go.

Bob Proctor said it best: "If you're going to let what you do be based upon what you hear & read, you better make certain the people who are giving you the advice are getting PHENOMENAL RESULTS!"

Well, we did just that. We built our own system that gets those phenomenal results.

Should you fix it yourself or just buy a device from us?

We are 15 years ahead of you when it comes to loading devices. We have our Elite System we created that we load onto each and every Nvidia Shield Pro, a system that's proven to work. A Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro from us is plug-and-play ready.

With our helpful walkthrough videos (which you get full access to), we show you how to use the device and what to do if something is not working. We have spent years mastering the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019.

So really, ask yourself: how much is your TIME worth to you? Because you think dealing with the downgrade is hard? Just wait until you need to de-Google the device with ADB debugging on your computer, then the loading of the right APKs.

So why doesn't our system buffer?

We do a lot to it. First, we put it on a stable OS (Android 9 v8.2.1). We expand the storage by adding a USB drive. And we recommend you plug in that Ethernet cable using a Cat5e cable for a stable connection. Again, it's a whole system we created to make sure the Nvidia Shield Pro doesn't buffer while giving you access to worldwide TV entertainment.

Is The Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 Worth It In 2026

Yes, the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 is the only streaming device that makes sense anymore in 2026. This is now about who controls your streaming device. You or the company you bought it from.

When it comes to cheap or so-called budget-friendly streaming devices, the companies that sold them to you control them. Think of devices like the Onn Box Pro, TiVo Stream 4K, Firestick, Google TV Stream, Xiaomi and more. If you can't turn off automatic updates, you don't want that device. See more in, Why cheap streaming devices aren’t worth it in 2024-2025.

Android open-source project boxes like Formuler Z12 Ultra 4K, BuzzTV UGOOS, and running Android 11 will have their own new problems. They lack the power of the NVIDIA® Tegra® X1+ processor. Making them as powerless as the cheap streaming devices, sorry but it’s true.

Now, I do want to put D3vicx's own Disclaimer in this blog: If you are working with a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 right out of the box and you do all the automatic updates, this does apply to you as well.

Your Nvidia Shield Pro will most likely have Play Protection On, disabling APKs without your say so. You would have to use ADB debugging on your computer to turn off Google's Play Protection.

As for the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros we offer to people, they are fully de-Googled and come preloaded with our Elite System. Which is 70 APKs giving you access to TV entertainment worldwide and Android App Stores. We knew we had to start doing this when Google announced the ban on sideloading coming to Android boxes.

But what they also meant was all APKs (Android Package Kit) being written. People who now have to fully ID themselves to create an Android App or APK. This will slow down new APKs with search engines for sure, so it's best to get the best ones you need now on the right device. Because once the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 stops selling, it's going to cost you thousands to get your hands on one.

There will never be another streaming device with this much power and this much control on the market for sale ever again.

Facts: Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019

The best thing about the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 is that NVIDIA, the company, doesn't care what you do with the device. They have the software on their website for people looking to downgrade (rollback) to a more controllable and stable Android system.

No other streaming device offers you downgrade (rollback) software.

We do believe this will be the best premium streaming device you will ever see on the market. This device has been out for years, and no other company has even cared to come close or to flat out beat the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. If you don't get one asap, you will be that person that missed out.

You can expand the storage using a USB flash drive, an SSD drive, or put together a NVMe SSD with an enclosure, it's your choice. With our devices, we offer the SanDisk Ultra Flair SuperSpeed USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Flash Drive. It's the best, and it helps control the heat coming from the device.

Just Talk: Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019

Between Reddit forums, bloggers, and some YouTubers, they all talk a ton of trash about the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. At first, I thought it was just for clickbait, but nope. These people really have a problem with the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019.

That is when we noticed: the people who talk the most trash about the device have no clue how to use it. And they may lack the skills to downgrade (rollback) it back to a stable system.

A brand new out of the box Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 is very different from what we do. So I can see people getting mad if tech is not your thing. You don't even need to be tech-savvy, just trying it out takes you a long way. We do have free YouTube video guides on "How to Rollback to Android 9 v8.2.1 on the Nvidia Shield Pro."

But saying a Firestick or Onn Box Pro is a better device is a flat out lie. Just like when people say $200 is a lot of money for the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019.

What? $200 for a premium streaming device is not a lot of money, it's now super cheap. They don't think of the thousands of dollars combined they have wasted trashing all those Firesticks and then moving over to Onn Box Pros. When the person with the Nvidia Shield Pro only paid that $200 once and still has that same device working with no problems.

Why is D3vicx Not On Reddit?

I'm not here to bash Reddit. The forum does a lot of good, but you do at times run into these know-it-all jackasses who get mad when you know more than them. So when you go up there, just be aware of these guys.

For what some of you may not know, we were on Reddit for 4 years starting in 2021. We were also on eBay, Etsy, and Medium back when we first started out. What do all these companies have in common? We don't control their platforms. All our accounts were one day erased. No reason why, just done.

Were we mad? No, because we created our own website, reported on our site first, and then just copied that information onto third-party sites.

When it comes to sideloading and talking about what a device can do on Reddit, people get mad and their feelings get hurt. They can't stand when we point out that this is a hobby to them because they have day jobs, and this is a business to us, this is our day job.

We have over 20 years of experience when it comes to messing about with computers, and 15 years when it comes to loading all kinds of devices. We are a tech company that has focused all our energy on the BEST streaming device that we chose to master: the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. On top of owning our own website, we created our own Discord community.

I think we did pretty good to see what would start to happen in the future, and we stayed as prepared as possible. So no, we don't miss third-party websites. We just find them sometimes to be dangerous when they spread false information; like "don't buy a Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019." No, the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 is the only streaming device you should be buying from 2026 and beyond, before you miss out.

Even with resold Shield Pros on eBay, you can't tell the difference because all devices have the same model number. To learn more, check out this blog: How to buy and optimize a used Nvidia Shield Pro in 2026.

FAQ: I Want the Jailbroken Nvidia Shield You Sell: The 2026 Review, Facts, & Not Just Talk

1. Is the Nvidia Shield Pro still worth buying in 2026?

A.Yes, absolutely. The Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 remains in production and continues to sell steadily. It is widely considered the benchmark for streaming devices and no competitor has matched its combination of raw performance, software support longevity, and flexibility.

NVIDIA still treats the Shield Pro as a living platform with regular security updates. This is the only device, were you can turn off Google Play Services and it still works fine.

Once the Shield stops selling, used units may cost you thousands. Buy now while you still can.

2. Will the Google sideloading ban in 2026 affect my Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro?

A. No, our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros are fully de-Googled. We turn off Google Services, Play Store, and Play Protection. The ban will never touch your device from us. You keep full control.

3. Is it legal to buy and use a jailbroken streaming device?

A. No, as of April 2026 there are no laws against streaming piracy. Modifying the device itself is legal. You own the hardware, so you can do what you want with it.

Our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros put you back in control. You are not ruling any laws; you’re not streaming copyrighted material, your streaming content that is available online via search engines. To be on the safe side, we do install an all-in-one DNS, Adblocker, and VPN APK, do use this when streaming.

4. Can a jailbroken streaming device get a virus or malware?

A. Yes, cheap off-brand devices and APKs can come pre-loaded with malware.

Our Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pros are different. We test every APK with VirusTotal (which scans with over 60 antivirus engines) before adding it to our system . Plus, your device comes with an all-in-one DNS, Adblocker, and VPN APK. No one is getting into your network.

5. What's happening with Amazon Fire Sticks and sideloading?

A. The Summer of 2023, Amazon did announced the move to Vega OS to ban sideloading.

As of April 2026, Amazon has permanently blocked sideloading on all new Fire TV Sticks. The company confirmed that all future Fire Sticks will run on its new Vega OS, which does not support installing apps from outside Amazon's official app store.

If you still want to control your streaming device, stop buying Firesticks and Onn Box Pros immediately and move to the Nvidia Shield Pro.

6. Why does my Nvidia Shield Pro keep buffering, and how can I fix it?

A. This is the short answer.

1. If your Shield Pro is running Android 11, that's likely the problem. Android 11 slows down the Shield Pro by 20%, blocks system‑access APKs, and can cause crashes with Kodi and even Plex. You can downgrade to Android 9 v8.2.1 yourself.

2. Other common causes include using WiFi instead of a wired Ethernet connection, using the wrong Ethernet cable is also a problem (stick to Cat5e for 2019 hardware). Do NOT use Cat6, Cat7, nor Cat8.

3. Renting a cheap router from your internet provider which caps speeds at 100 Mbps or less. Own your own router, we recommend the Flint 2 and DON’T buy it on Amazon.

Or you can simply buy a Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro from us that already fixes all of this.

7. Why should I trust D3vicx over Reddit forums or YouTube reviewers?

A. Bob Proctor said it best: "If you're going to let what you do be based upon what you hear & read, you better make certain the people who are giving you the advice are getting PHENOMENAL RESULTS!"

When people asked for 3D movies on the Nvidia Shield Pro, we went out and found that answer for people. Then put it in a YouTube video so people can see. When people asked about multiviewing, we found that out and put it in a YouTube video for people to see.

Our number one goals has always been to completely master the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. Nothing more and nothing less. Trust is something you earn, not ask for.

In Conclusion: Jailbroken Nvidia Shield Pro 2026 Review

Hopefully, we were able to help. We know when coming into the streaming world it's like the Wild West. But if you have the time, go learn all of this yourself. The information on what works and what doesn't work will shock you. Again, we can't say enough great things about the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019.

It's the Blackberry of streaming devices and instead of an iPhone taking it down, nothing has even tried.

Not even the Android open-source devices like Formuler, which I believe could be the closest. But they are too busy trying to sell their little IPTV services. BuzzTV is giving it a go, but you can't seem to downgrade to Android 9. They are on Android 11 and 12, which come with their own problems.

This is about you controlling the device and doing what you want with it. No more and no less. We just strongly disagree with people online telling you to buy Firesticks and Onn Boxes over the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. Because when the problems start to come, are these people giving you your money back? No. They are making new videos saying how they are moving away from that device and here's another one to try.

We have backed only one streaming device since the start, and that is the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. Here we are, 7 years later, still backing it. We think long term, not short term. And our terrible experiences with Firesticks and Google Chromecast were an eye opener to all the problems to come.

Like how your APKs get disabled, or your Android software system updates without your permission. You and I both know you can't turn off automatic updates because you control nothing. Or when Walmart pushed out an update that bricked thousands of Onn Box Pros and the people outside the USA couldn't do a thing about it but trash the device.

Yeah, I've never heard of NVIDIA doing any of this to people. The choice is clear. The next question is: do you want to load it yourself, or do you want one already proven to be amazing?
