Is Your Streaming Box Built to Break? The Real Reason Why Cheap Streaming Devices Buffer
Hello everyone and welcome to out long titled blog, “Is Your Streaming Box Built to Break? The Real Reason Why Cheap Streaming Devices Buffer.” We are D3vicx (devices) and we are the experts at customizing and sideloading premium streaming devices so you can watch TV entertainment for free.
Just recently, more like yesterday, I think I finally started to ask the right questions about all these streaming devices. Questions I don’t even think we are 100% conscious enough to ask at times. Our minds are always so clouded with all the information coming at us, does anyone stop to process it?
I had to stop just two days ago just so I could process newer information. I made others stop and wait, so it could sink into my mind for me to use later. See, I think of my brain as a super computer and a sponge, soaking up all this information and then taking the time to put it in order so I can use it.
At times I like to even master it so I can then become wise.
Did you know wisdom is the action of information you know and mastering it is the key. This is why I always hear, the journey is the film. Learning and playing about with these devices for so long I think I finally can paint the picture for everyone to understand what is going on with cheap streaming devices. I don’t think any of us have taken a step back in a long time to see the bigger picture.
Let’s get into it, I’m super excited to share my findings.

The Hidden Design Behind Buffering Streaming Boxes
Have you ever heard of Planned Obsolescence? That’s when companies build devices to break down fast. Most last 2 to 3 years or shorter. By then making it impossible to fix, therefore forcing you to buy again. You end up doing this over and over again it becomes normalized in your mind.
Does this sounds familiar?
How many Firesticks have you replaced since you started streaming with the Firestick? Yea, so many you can’t even count. Apple’s guilty of this too. So are a ton of other big names. Everyone has their own version of it, just quiet enough not to get caught.
So on a normal Firestick, you pay for everything. Amazon pushes through updates slowing down the device forcing people to go out and buy a new one. Have you ever thought why? What was the Firestick really built for? Yea, let that soak in for a minute.
What was the Firestick built for, I ask you again?
They are built for paid streaming services and yet we keep trying to force them to work with sideloaded APKs and we are then shocked when it doesn't work or when the device starts to break down.
The Firesticks are locked-down Android devices (Fire OS), hell, even the hardware and software on these device screams, “I’m not meant for sideloading APK!” We are going to go through those details more below. I'm mean really think about it. How much gigabyte space is even on the Firestick, they say 8GB but when you turn it on it's about 5GB of free space for you to use.
When sideloading apks how many are you sideloading and is the heavy Kodi apk one of them? That right there kills your space on the device.
Then you trying to stream a 4K, HDR, or Dolby Vision movie. With what gigabyte space? You have about 2GB of free space on the device and those movie sizes are large, I'm talking 10GB to 64GB. Of course the device is going to buffer and lag. I know right. This fact blew my mind away too.
And oh it gets worse. I'll go into that more below.
So what devices are meant for sideloading?
Open-source devices like the Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019, this is a device that won’t give you a headache when you are streaming on it. It doesn’t buffer, well the ones we offer don’t.
I’m super surprised it took us all this time to put 2 and 2 together to finally come up with 4, even though the information was staring us in the face this whole time.

Why Bit Architecture & Hardware Matter
What is the difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit hardware and software? Do you even know what the bit is for? Don't feel bad, I just learned this last year but really got to put it to use during Christmas and now. The difference between a 32-bit and a 64-bit is the way that it handles memory. The bit size refers to the memory that it can address. Ok cool, what is the difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit?
A 32-bit system can reference 2 to the 32nd power bytes of memory which equals to about 4 gigabytes.
A 64-bit system can reference 2 to the 64th power bytes of memory which equals to about 16 exabytes.
Which is 4 billion times more memory than a 32-bit. That number is so huge that it’s virtually unlimited because we will never need to use hat amount of memory.
The Firestick runs on 32-bit hardware and software meaning it can only process about 4GB of memory. And you want to stream a file that is 10GB to 64GB on that device without it buffering, how when there is no processing space? Why are you trying to force something that doesn't work and has been proven over and over again that is doesn't work, to work when it can’t. It can work with smaller files but for a limited of time, remember these devices are only build to last a limited amount of time.
This doesn’t include an paid IPTV Service. That is something different entirely and we don't promote those, so let’s skip it.
Are you seeing the bigger picture now. How come now one else has come up with this theory?
They may have, it’s said 10 people will come up with the same idea because no idea is original. Then 2 people will go for it and only 1 will be the leader in that market. We here at D3vicx are bold, will we be the ones leading the market with this idea?
Hold on, before you all start running out to buy the next cheap streaming device, what I'm saying is all the cheap streaming devices are all like this. Even the Apple TV, this is why we stopped dealing with them. We are trying to force something that is not open to just letting us in.
With forcing comes all the buffering, lagging, freezing, and all kinds of other issues. I'm looking at you the Apple TV taking away my Live TV off of Kodi.
This is why its important to learn about open-source streaming devices. This is where all the terms come from.
You:
Jailbreak An Apple TV
Sideload A Firestick
Fully Load A Nvidia Shield Pro
See the terms, fully load, you are not doing anything against the software system on the device instead you are working with it.
Our company is about helping you stream stress free and easy. Not have you take a tech quiz on how to fix your streaming device every two days because of an update in the software messed something up.
See the big difference.
If you are a stubborn person, yes keep getting those cheap streaming devices and keep wasting the most valuable thing you have in your life, your TIME. We are all given TIME but do you want to spend yours trying to fix something that is designed to fail or would you rather spend a little money getting something that just works right out of the box.
Hold that thought, there is more.

What Makes the Nvidia Shield Pro the Greatest Streaming Device
I’m like Michael Burry from the “Big Short”, or Jordan Belfort from the “Wolf of Wall Street”, I see into the future but for me it’s with streaming devices and other technologies none of you give a two second thought about. When it’s all done and over and the dust settles, all those cheap streaming devices are going to fold. You are going to lose it all yet again.
Again?
Yes, how much have you invested already into a Firestick because some YouTuber or random person on Reddit told you too? And I’m not just talking about money, you can always earn way more money, I’m talking about your TIME. That TIME you could have been at your kids game but instead, that issue with that cheap streaming device took your attention.
You are paying with your attention and in return being left on the side of the road after your first date with this cheap guy. Yet, you go out with the next cheap guy or classless girl expecting a different result.
How? When you keep repeating the same patterns.
Try going up to the gentlemen or gentlelady at the gym that is in there with you at 4 am or 5 am. It could be just to say hello, clearly you two are on another level to be here that early. Yet, you won't invest in a more premium streaming device with a luxury experience that just works.
You: Here, sell me this streaming device.
Me: Does the one you have buffer every two second after you hit play?
You: YES! Yes it does and it drives me up the wall.
Me: Here this one doesn’t. Just click and play.
You: How much?
Me: The investment is $725 for 3 to 5 years of streaming peace.
You: No, you are a scammer.
Me: Ok, your lost.
You 6 month later: OK, I’ve changed my mind, I’ll invest.
Me: The investment is now $925 for 3 to 5 years of streaming peace.
You let what you see online stop you from investing when the price was great. Instead you should have done your own home work on us. How many other companies that offer streaming devices have a community with an “exclusive tech support group”, so if something was to go south, you can pop in and get help?
It’s time for you to make up your own mind and stop letting those flashy videos do it for you. You think you know a person because you see their face, that is so far from the truth.
Just about every tech person on YouTube, I follow, I picked up something they recommend and it was terrible. That is when I woke up, “Just because I see your face, doesn’t mean I know you at all.” I know nothing about you and who you work with to push whatever it is you are pushing.
Now, clearly this wasn’t the case with everyone just the tech section hands down for sure.
64‑bit Architecture & 3GB RAM: Optimized for heavy apps
The Nvidia Shield Pro runs on a true 64-bit system both hardware and software. Want to test your current device? Use the Downloader app and install [64Bit Checker APK – Code: ####] to see what’s really under the hood.
I’m curious if any budget device out there runs 64-bit hardware with 32-bit software but if it's under $150, I highly doubt it.
Here’s the deal: a 64-bit system can handle massive files like 10GB–25GB 4K HDR or Dolby Vision streams without choking. It's not just about RAM although 3GB still beats the Firestick’s 1–2GB every time.
I know someone’s going to say, “But it’s only 3GB of RAM.”
Yeah, and that Firestick you keep defending crashes halfway through a Kodi build. This RAM size matters when you’re running heavy APKs like Kodi (yes, sideloaded — not that weak Google Play Store version). It’s stable, smooth, and made for this kind of weight.
Tegra X1+ CPU + 256‑Core GPU = REAL Performance

Elite System Launcher with Ethernet = No Waiting, No Limits
Have you ever had an experience with a streaming device that just went smooth. No buffering because you had the ethernet cable plug in. You just click and it played, no paywalls or pop ups telling you to sign into your debrid account. Everything just did what you thought it should do and even more that you wasn’t even aware of.
Our Elite System is simple, a customer launcher that host 55 APKs that work together as 1 giving you access to TV entertainment worldwide. You never need to update the Nvidia Shield Pro, leave it alone. The APKs update themselves with a popup letting you know it’s that time, all you do is hit install.
Why not update the Nvidia Shield Pro? Because it’s not broken, it work great with no issues, updates bring issues.
What is it that you are looking for? Live TV with an EPG, go it, and no it’s not a paid IPTV Service. You don’t need a paid IPTV Service. Streaming Live Sports without any issues, buffering, or lagging, we have that too. But you have to keep your end of the deal too.
Make sure you plug in that ethernet cable because WiFi is not going to cut it with the power this streaming device is bring to the table. If you do use WiFi that means you are not listening because you will have buffering. These APKs are too much to be streamed just over WiFi, it need wall power.

Real User Complaints vs Real Solutions
Let’s be real — everyone says the same thing:
“My device buffers.”
“It lags.”
“It just fails.”
But no one explains why.
Here’s the truth:
It’s built to not work like that. Yep. That simple. Misery solved. Next problem.
No, seriously. I gave up on Fire devices months ago, and it was the best decision I’ve made. I spent two hours just trying to sideload three basic APKs — and only did it to prove that the Firestick still runs on 32-bit hardware and software. It was painful, slow, and got worse with every update.
The real solution?
Stop letting random YouTubers tell you what “hack” to try next. If you're spending 3 to 5 hours every weekend looking for fixes, that’s your sign it’s time to move on from that device. It’s not serving you. It’s stealing your time.
I wish someone told me this sooner. Instead, I wasted hours chasing "fixes" from people who knew they didn’t work, but wanted the views anyway.

FAQ: Is Your Streaming Box Built to Break?
Why does my Firestick buffer when sideloading apps?
Because it wasn’t built for sideloading APKs (apps). The Firestick’s limited RAM and processor can barely handle Amazon’s own apps, let alone sideloaded ones meant for higher-powered devices. Think of it like trying to run a marathon in flip-flops it can move, but it’s not going to be pretty.
What’s the fastest box for sideloaded live sports?
Hands down, the Nvidia Shield Pro. It’s built like a tank with a gaming-grade processor, real RAM, and better cooling. Live sports don’t stutter or crash on it like they do on underpowered devices. It's the VIP section of streaming.
Nvidia Shield Pro vs. Fire Cube 3: Which buffers less?
Nvidia Shield Pro buffers less by a mile. The Fire Cube 3 is Amazon’s “fancy” model, but it still runs hot and gets clunky over time. The Shield has optimized hardware, fewer software limitations, and isn’t shackled to Amazon’s ecosystem.
Why does my device get slower over time?
Most budget-friendly (cheap) streaming devices have poor heat management and weak processors. As they age (or heat up), they slow down. If you’re clearing cache daily just to get apps to open, your device is screaming for help.
Can I stop buffering with better internet?
Sometimes, yes on a premium streaming device but not on a budget-friendly (cheap) device due to bottlenecking. You can have blazing-fast internet, but if your box can’t handle sideloaded apps or large streams, it’ll still buffer. It’s not always your WiFi’s fault, sometimes it’s your hardware in the device. Also, get a streaming device that has an ethernet plugin for a stable connection.
What’s the difference between sideloading and jailbreaking?
Sideloading is when you install apps that aren’t in the official app store. Jailbreaking usually means removing restrictions placed by the manufacturer. Most people say “jailbreaking” when they mean sideloading but you don’t need to “break” anything on a good box like the Nvidia Shield Pro.
Should I upgrade from my Firestick?
If you’re reading this and constantly frustrated by buffering, crashes, or needing to reboot your device then yes, 100%. Stop wasting you TIME on budget sticks and upgrade to something that’s actually built for the job. Your peace of mind is worth it.

In Conclusion: The Honest Verdict
My honest thought on the subject stands. Because we all are trying to force sideload APKs onto Firesticks this is the reason for the buffering, on top of the design is not technically design to hold up. This is like killing two birds with one stone.
I do notice a ton of YouTubers, Reddit post, and Discord group telling people, oh moreover to the Onn Boxes.
I step back and I watch and wait for the other shoe to drop here again like last summer. When Onn did an update blocking the GPS of the device from working outside of the USA. Made no sense because they did this to people also in Canada. And if you’ve been to Canada you know they have WalMart too.
That was a big disconnect when I saw that. So I wonder, what else are Onn going to try? I do not recommend any cheap streaming device on the market. Again, it’s your TIME and attention that will be taken away when the problems come.
